Frontier Communications (NYSE: FTR) is dedicating September and October to raise funds for schools. A recent survey by OfficeMax found that 97 percent of the teachers surveyed said their schools were impacted by tighter budgets, and 86 percent of teachers said budgets cuts affected their ability to secure necessary classroom supplies. Frontier wants to help schools focus on their mission, not budget gaps.
The new program, Let’s Chalk Up A Cause, is the next phase of Frontier’s recent Great Donate - Let’s Talk Up A Cause, which resulted in the donation of thousands of dollars and food and supplies to local relief agencies in Frontier markets. The continuing effects of the economic slowdown prompted Frontier officials to keep the program going, this time with education in mind.
Cereal Daniel, general manager for Frontier, describes the program basics.
Schools may be pre-K, elementary, middle school, high school or even a college or university, and may be public or private.
