Northview bounced back from last week's loss to Freeport to pick up an important 28-27 victory over the Jay Royals Friday night in Jay.
The Chiefs (6-2, 5-2) picked up the win on the legs of junior wingback Dustin Yuhasz and the arm and legs of sophomore quarterback Brandon Sheets.
Yuhasz led the team with 13 carries for 124 yards and two touchdowns, while Sheets completed 5-of-14 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also ran the ball 11 times for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Yuhasz's touchdown pass went to sophomore receiver Austin Albritton, who caught two passes for a total of 53 yards to go along with his score.
The Chiefs defense made tough stands against the Royals to keep them one point back.
Defensively, the Chiefs were led by senior linebacker Jeremy Jackson who had five tackles and an interception.
Also getting in on defense for the Chiefs were junior safety Devin Moorer and junior linebacker Levi Gideons.
Moorer led the team with six tackles, while Gideons recorded five tackles and two quarterback sacks.
The Chiefs come home to host Sneads High School next Friday for senior night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
