The Atmore Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night in the area of Martin Luther King Avenue and Park Drive.
According to APD officials, several young black males attempted to rob the owner of the Game Room while he was locking up for the night. When the owner indicated that he knew one of the assailants, he was shot twice, once in the chest and once in the arm.
The victim remained in Atmore Community Hospital overnight for observation.
The APD ask that anyone with information regarding this shooting contact the department at 368-9141.
