URIAH - Mrs. Nona Beth Porterfield, 76, of Uriah died Nov. 1, 2009 at her home in Uriah.
Mrs. Porterfield, a native of Elmore County, was a resident of Uriah for many years. Mrs. Porterfield had worked for Vanity Fair as a production control manager. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Uriah. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Clayton Chapter #306 and an honorary member of Stockton Chapter.
Her son, Ronnie Porterfield, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Rodney Porterfield of Uriah; a son, James (Cathy) Porterfield of Livingston; a daughter, Brenda (Oppie) Bryant of Stockton; a brother, Jack Smith of Atmore; eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Uriah with the Rev. Mark Whittington, the Rev. Steve Dunn and the Rev. Q.T. Curtis officiating. Burial followed in the Church cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home.
