With work crews busy with clean up and repairs at Frost Bites, Terri Waller is hopeful for the future of the local business.
Frost Bites, an ice cream and deli-style business, is owned and operated by Waller and co-owner, Jim Fulford.
The shop was closed after floodwaters ravaged downtown Atmore two weeks ago during a flash flood.
The building, located at 903 W. Nashville Ave., is owned by First National Bank and Trust. The bank is responsible for contracting workers to make repairs at the location.
Waller said some of the work being done at the shop includes repairing walls and installing insulation.
Waller said adjusters are still compiling reports to see if equipment owned by the business will be covered.
Waller said the shop will be open Monday through Friday during the winter months with an additional day added to the hours of operation in the spring.
Waller said she had been told there is something good coming from all the hardship.
Waller said she hoped that former customers will remember them once the shop reopens later this month.
