NHS Lady Chiefs fall to Lady Royals 40-35

A first-half lead was not enough to keep the Northview Lady Chiefs on top as they were defeated by the Jay Lady Royals 45-30 Tuesday night in Bratt, Fla.
The Lady Chiefs controlled the game early, but allowed the Lady Royals to take over in the second half.
Northview was led by Amber McMillan’s 14 points.
In the first quarter, Northview took advantage of their home court and jumped out to an early lead 11-6.
Despite being outscored 9-5 in the second period, the Lady Chiefs held their lead heading into halftime, 16-15.
After halftime, a cold streak struck the Lady Chiefs as they allowed the Lady Royals to grab the lead and run away with the game.
In the third quarter, offensive struggles held Northview back as the Lady Royals outscored the Lady Chiefs 15-2 giving Jay a 12-point advantage going into the final period.
The ball started falling through the hoop again for Northview in the fourth quarter as they scored 12 points, but it was not enough to cut into Jay’s lead as they scored 15 points to pick up the 45-30 win.
Northview Lady Chiefs with points included Angela Rodriguez with 10 points and Megan Ryan, Lanecia Gomez and Shaniqua Jones with two points apiece.

Amber McMillan led the Lady Chiefs with seven points against the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles, but it was not enough to help her team as Northview lost 24-19 on Jan. 12.
The Lady Chiefs played a tight game with the Lady Eagles, but the deficit in the first half held them back from a victory.
In the first quarter, W.S. Neal opened up the game with a slim lead as they outscored the Lady Chiefs 9-5.
The Lady Eagles continued controlling the game in the second quarter adding a point to their lead as they added six points to their total and only allowing the Lady Chiefs five points. At halftime, W.S. Neal led 15-10.
After halftime, the Lady Chiefs kept the game even by not getting outscored by the Lady Eagles.
In the third quarter, the Lady Chiefs and Lady Eagles stepped up on defense and played to a 3-3 tie.
The two teams again scored the same amount of points in the fourth quarter with each gaining six points to give the Lady Eagles a five-point victory.
Lady Chief Megan Ryan scored six points in the loss, while Angela Rodriguez, Shaniqua Jones and Lanecia Gomez all had two points.

Lady Chiefs 29
A high-scoring fourth quarter by the Baker Lady Gators kept the Northview Lady Chiefs from earning a victory as they were defeated 44-29 on Jan. 8.
The Lady Chiefs played strong in the first half to gain a comfortable lead, but could not hold their lead in the final quarter.
In the first quarter, the Lady Gators outscored the Lady Chiefs 7-6, but in the second quarter Northview came to life and took the lead 17-11 at halftime.
Baker began gaining ground in the third quarter to pull to within one point, and took the lead in the fourth by scoring 24 points to win 44-29.
The Lady Chiefs were led by Shaniqua Jones’ 12 points and Angela Rodriguez’s eight points.
