Atmore Police officers apprehended four teenagers just before 8 p.m. Thursday night after they attempted to break into two local businesses.
According to authorities, the teens allegedly attempted to break into the Stinson's BP located on South Main Street next to KFC and Tammie's Cuttin' Loose Hair Salon, located next door to the gas station, which closed down several weeks ago.
Officers quickly nabbed two of the suspects at the scene, another in front of Chen's Chinese Buffet after a short foot pursuit and discovered the fourth hiding in the woods located directly behind the gas station.
Officers also located a large hammer they believe the teenagers planned to use to help make a hole already located in the back of the gas station bigger in an attempt to enter the store.
The names of the suspects are being withheld due to their ages.
The case remains under investigation by the Atmore Police Department.
