ATMORE - Fred Clinton Salter Sr. was born on Jan. 11, 1947 to the late Lelia McCastle Salter and the late James Salter. Fred accepted the Lord in 1993, he was a trial deacon, a devoted worker at his church and he worked at Standard Furniture for 15 years. On Friday, March 12, 2010, Fred Clinton Salter Sr. received his final call to glory. He passed at Atmore Community Hospital in Atmore.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Inez L. Salter; two daughters, Lisa (Donyanus) Hawkins of Haines City, Fla. and Dianne Gathers of Davenport, Fla.; three sons, Fred (Primrose) Salter Jr., Bobby (Keisha) Salter and Terry Gathers, of Davenport, Fla.; one stepson, Lance Stanley of Haines City, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Lula Mae (Elder Eddie) Banks, Jacqueline (George) Dukes and Min. Melanie (Elder Maurice) Etheridge, all of Atmore; three brothers, Jessie (late Cynthia) Salter of Atmore, Robert (Willie) Salter of Los Angeles, Calif. and Kenny Salter of Atmore; two stepbrothers, Glen (Deloise) Young of Ocala, Fla. and Willie McCastle; one uncle, Roosevelt (late Violet) Hines of Rochester, N.Y. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at House of God Church.
