ATMORE - On March 28, 2010 the Lord saw fit to take a “True Man” one of a kind. Heaven received a saint.
Born in Atmore, Frankie Knowles, was the baby of six children, a loving husband, father, paw-paw, an avid fisherman and jokester that put his family first. They shared many vacations and camping trips. He was grounded and brought up his family in a true “Christian” home. After four years in the military he was hired on at Monsanto in 1957 until 1993.
He leaves behind his wife adored of 53 years, Nora; two daughters, Tammie Penegar and Rhonda Lawson; his life, four “Burr Heads”, his grandsons, Brandon Penegar, Tyler Penegar, Ryan Porter and Rhen Porter; brother, Jimmy Lancaster and Brother F.L. Enfinger will share words of comfort and praise he will be deeply missed.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 31, 2010 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Branden Penegar, Tyler Penegar, Ryan Porter, Rhen Porter, Clark Childress, JT Allen, Otha Yuhasz and Pat Palmer.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Redmond, David McCaskill, Lawrence McKinley, Gene Douglas, Red Kirksey, Oscar Pittman and Hubert Levins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until service time at 2 p.m.
Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Hwy. 29 south Cantonment is in charge of arrangements.
