ATMORE - On Thursday, March 25, 2010, Mrs. Mattie Lee Hartley departed this earth to be with her Heavenly Father.
She was born May 26, 1939 in Uriah to the late Frank and Gaydella Nickerson. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Uriah.
Five sisters, Dillie Ann N. Norris, Laura Louise N. America, Evelyn N. Jones, Lucinda Thomas and Ola Dee N. Wimbush and three brothers, Charlie Nickerson, Frank Nickerson Jr. and Homer Lee Nickerson, preceded her in death.
Those who will cherish her loving memories forever are five children, Silvester Hartley of Springville, Gaydella (Kennth) Jones of Atmore, Charles Kirk Lewis of Atlanta, Ga., Rickie (Oranetta) Hartley of Orlando, Fla. and Ancles Hartley of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held today, April 3, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Banks officiating. Interment will be at Uriah Cemetery in Uriah.
Visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at Turner Funeral Chapel.
