ATMORE – Buford Barrette, 86, of Atmore died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at her residence.

She was a homemaker, born in Monroe County on October, 27, 1923 to the late Joe and Salomia Pipkin Griffin. Her and her husband, Russell D. Barrette of 62 years resided in South America for 20 years.

Her daughter-in-law, Connie Barrette, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Russell D. Barrette of Atmore; one son, Russell Gary Barrette of Alvin, Texas; one daughter, Judith Ann Rimmer of Duncanville, Texas; two sisters, Amalou Burkett of Excel and Marilyn LeFar of Satellite, Fla.; four grandchildren, Rachel Nicole Barrette, Tamara McDaniels, Kathy Rimmer and Michael Barrett and a dear friend, Wayne Beasley.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
