Emergency personnel responded to a two-car accident on Hwy. 31 Wednesday afternoon in front of the Shell station.
The two vehicles, a 1999 red Ford Taurus and a 1993 blue Chevrolet Lumina, collided in a near head-on collision next to Rock-a-Way Creek Road at approximately 3:10 p.m.
According to an Atmore Police Department officer at the scene, the Lumina was in the turn lane facing west with the Taurus traveling east. The officer stated that the driver of the Lumina said the vehicle began malfunctioning and she could not correct it before the collision.
Atmore Ambulance responded to the scene, but no one was transported to the hospital. The cars were towed to David’s Paint & Body.
