Two Northview High School graduates have big plans for their future, and if their past actions are an indication, both will be successful.

Clinton Eugene Davis, son of Benjamin and Dottie Davis, served his graduating class as salutatorian.

Caraway has had an active high school career with membership in several clubs earning several awards during those years at the school. Her activities included membership in the Beta Club and serving on the Student Government Association, yearbook staff and Future Farmers of America. Her awards include being named yearbook editor and Student of the Year. Her hard work earned her the honor of receiving the highest grade point average in honors physics and honors English courses.

Davis has also seen a lot of activity during his high school years. He has been kept busy with clubs and organizations including the NJROTC, yearbook staff and as a member of the cross-country team. During his time in high school he was named Core Value Student of the Year and received the MIRA award for drama and the Academic Excellence Award for Top 5.

As Caraway leaves behind her high school years, the memories she carries with her will be ones of family and close friends.

“The best memory I’ll take with me is being on the yearbook staff,” Caraway said. “We really became a family and made many memories together.”

Davis said his favorite memories of high school come from his activities in athletics.

“My best memory of high school would have to be when I ran my final 5K for cross-country in under 30 minutes,” Davis said.

Caraway plans to attend Auburn University and work toward a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine.

“I can see myself in 20 years as a veterinarian with my own clinic in this area,” Caraway said. “I also hope to have a family by then.”

Davis plans to attend Troy University with many interests in mind for the future.

“I plan to acquire a mathematics degree from Troy University with a minor in physics,” Davis said. “After this, I plan to pursue a master’s degree in meteorology from another university.”

Through his many plans, Davis said he hopes to work for a national organization in the future.

“In 20 years, I see myself working with the National Weather Service,” Davis said.

Caraway offered some advice to those who continue their high school education.

“My advice to future seniors is don’t give up when you’re so close to finishing,” Caraway said. “It may get hard, but you can do it.”

Davis said advice for future seniors is to work hard and stick to a plan.

“My advice is to have a plan for after high school and work toward a goal,” Davis said. “Never give up.”

Caraway said she knows there will be some things she will miss about her years in school.

“I know that I will miss all of the people I’ve been friends with since kindergarten,” Caraway said.

Davis said there are some things about the time he spent at Northview that he will miss.

“The many drill meets of ROTC will be what I miss most,” Davis said.

Graduation ceremonies were held in the Northview High School gymnasium on June 5.
