Swim lesson registration begins at five

Registration for the second session of swim/tennis lessons will begin today at 5 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. The registration will continue until each class is filled.

The second session of the lessons will run from June 28 until July 16.

Betty Warren, manager of the Tom Byrne Park pool, said that having children take swim lessons is always vital.

“It can be the difference between life and death,” Warren said. “It’s like CPR. Our ability to offer swim lessons at such a low cost is wonderful and important because we are so close to the water.”

The daytime classes are group classes that meet for one hour each day from Monday through Friday for three weeks. The night classes will be for individual students for 30 minutes on Tuesday and Thursday for three weeks.

The cost is $35 per child.
