Gas station robbed at gunpoint

There are no new leads in the armed robbery of an Atmore convenience store early Wednesday morning, Atmore Director of Public Safety Glenn Carlee said Friday.
“We are continuing our investigation,” he said.
Atmore Police investigators continue to seek further information about the armed robbery that occurred at the Kangaroo Express on U.S. 31 in Atmore.
The incident happened just after midnight Wednesday, officers said. The clerk told police a black male entered the store with a gun and told her to open the register.
The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, running toward Rachel Patterson Elementary School.
Officers searched using the K-9 tracking team from the Alabama Department of Corrections, but did not find the suspect.
The clerk received no injuries during the process of this crime.
