ATMORE – Samuel A. “Buddy” Graham Jr., 79, of Atmore died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 in a Pensacola, Fla. hospital.
He was born in Bessemer to the late Samuel Albert and Anna Ruth Graham Sr. and was a retired public relations representative and salesman for Alabama Farmers Cooperative. He was a 1956 graduate of Auburn University and a lifelong Auburn Tiger fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Atmore where he served in many offices and was a lifetime deacon. He also served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He loved his Lord, his family and Auburn University.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Minnie Dean Swindal Graham; two daughters, Anne Sherrill and her husband, Kent, of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Gayle Carpenter and her husband, Steve, of Atmore; two sons, David Graham and his wife, Dale, of Kingston Springs, Tenn. and Steve Graham and his wife, Tammy, of Atmore; five granddaughters, Samantha Graham of Kingston Springs, Jessica Repasky and her husband, Larry, of White Bluff, Tenn., Lindsey Sherrill of Birmingham and Kate Sherrill and Meg Sherrill, both of Walnut Hill, Fla.; four grandsons, Jason Graham of Nashville, Tenn., Christopher Graham of Duluth, Ga., Evan Graham of Atmore and Douglas Sherrill of Walnut Hill, Fla. and one great grandson, Daniel Graham Repasky of Kingston Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Arnold Hendrix Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.
Pallbearers will be Steve Carpenter, Kent Sherrill, Jason Graham, Christopher Graham, Evan Graham and Douglas Sherrill.
Honorary pallbearers will be First Baptist Church Deacons, Giles Chapman, Jeff Anderson and all of the gentlemen from Escambia Drug Store.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
