William McCrory

MOBILE – William Ben (Bennie) McCrory, 75, a native of Excel, and a longtime resident of Mobile, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010.
Mr. McCrory began his career at the age of 17 at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville. He had served a total of 58 years as a licensed funeral director, embalmer in Alabama. During this time, he served many families in the Mobile area. He was a Mason in the Loop Lodge in Mobile where he received his 50-year pin.
His wife, Glenn S. McCrory, preceded Mr. McCrory in death.
Survivors include his son, Mark A. McCrory and his wife, Roxanne, of Daphne; two grandchildren, Jason McCrory of Daphne and Melissa McCrory of Mobile; two nieces; one nephew and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. from Excel Baptist Church in Excel on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at the church. Burial will be in Excel Cemetery in Excel.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore is in charge of all arrangements.
