For those fans unable to attend Friday night’s AHSAA quarterfinals match up between Escambia County High School and Bibb County at Herbert Barnes Stadium in Atmore, a Centreville-based radio station will broadcast the game live.

The Blue Devils’ contest will be aired on WBIB’s Web site www.wbibradio.net, which has followed the Choctaws all season and will make the trip to Escambia County.

ECHS has earned the right to host a playoff game after traveling to Andalusia in the first round and Jackson last Friday in the second round.

Blue Devils head coach  Mark Heaton is calling fans out to this week’s game because of the impact the support had last week.

“Our fans were huge last week at Jackson,” he said. “The kids said when the fans erupted on our second touchdown, it changed everything in the game. It took an effort from everyone including the players, coaches, the band and the fans to get that victory. Our kids said when our fans cheered they could barely here anything out there. We need that kind of effort from them this week to keep the team motivated.”

With a semifinals trip on the line for the Blue Devils, the Northview Chiefs open the first round of the FHSAA playoffs with a game in Blountstown.

Kickoff for both games is at 7 p.m.
