ATMORE – Louis DeWitt Bell Sr., 85, born in Atmore and a resident of the Pine Grove Community died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at North Baldwin Infirmary.

He was a clerk (retired) from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Navy and was a deacon at Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dot (Ward) Bell of Pine Grove; his children, Louis D. (Sandy) Bell Jr. of Albany, Miss., James (Marsha) Bell of Atmore, Cathy Bell (Ricky) Weaver of Atmore and Craig (Regina) Bell of Eupora, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Kelly Jernigan, Jason Bell, Brian Bell, Matthew Bell, Aaron Weaver, Jennifer Weaver, Savanna Bell and Rebecca Bell and five great grandchildren, Wesley McClellan, Hunter Jernigan, Christopher Bell, Brittney Bell and Kimberly Bell.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with the Rev. Tony Banning officiating.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons, Jason Bell, Wesley McClellan, Brian Bell, Hunter Jernigan, Matthew Bell, Christopher Bell and Aaron Weaver.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions are made to Gideons International P.O. Box 1384, Bay Minette Al 36507.

Funeral arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette.
