ATMORE – Leroy Barron was born June 11, 1906 in Putman, Marengo County to the late Gennie and Frank Barron. He later moved to Atmore. He departed this life on Dec. 23, 2010.

Leroy was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Atmore.

His loving and devoted wife, Emma Barron; seven brothers; three sisters and three daughters, preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memories one brother, Raymond Barron of Nokomis; two sisters, Emma Hatchett of Mobile and Dorothy Vine of Birmingham; eight children, Laura (General) Jones of Providence, R.I., John (Nyioun) Barron of Chester, Pa., Winston (Sarah) Barron of Atlanta, Ga., Embrach Barron and Dorothy Barron of Atmore, Emma Jean (Cladis) Woods of Perdido, Willie (Earnestine) Barron of Atmore and Leroy Barron Jr. of Nokomis; 24 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and an extensive loving host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.

Pallbearers were Tony Barron, Nelson Barron, Tommy Barron, Winston Barron, Winston Barron, Jr. and Jason Davis.
