ATMORE – Mrs. Ruby Mae McCants, 86, of Atmore transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, Jan 2, 2011 at Atmore Community Hospital.

She was a native of Hattiesburg, Miss. and had lived in Atmore most of her life.

Those left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Urla Boggan of Atmore and Betty Bradley of Brewton; two sons, Paul McCants Jr. of Charlotte, N.C. and David McCants of Atmore; one sister, Blondell Miles of Pensacola, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 8, 2011 at the Gaines Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Joseph Williams, pastor officiating. Retirement of her remains will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2011 at the funeral home and her body will lie instate at the Church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Turner Funeral Chapel LLC of Atmore will be directing.
