Freezing temperatures dipping down into the low 20s Wednesday evening has forced Escambia Academy to close its doors Thursday.

According to EA Headmaster Betty Warren, there is no water on the elementary side of the Canoe-based private school forcing her to cancel all classes today. She said she is not sure why the water is not working, but believes the pipes are frozen.

Warren said school would resume Friday as scheduled.
