An Evergreen man has been charged with murder following a car crash that killed a 10-year-old boy, state troopers said.

Troopers said their investigation showed that Kimberly Kirksey’s vehicle was stopped in the roadway after being directed to do so by a paving crew flagman.

After the crash, Fluker approached a flagman at the scene and physically assaulted him, troopers said. The flagman escaped without injury.

Flagman left the scene of the crash in the flagman’s work truck. He was apprehended a mile and a half from the scene by Evergreen Police. He was treated for injuries and then arrested and charged with murder.

Fluker was being held at the Conecuh County Jail on $500,000 bond, troopers said.

Kimberly and Kortlann Kirksey were transported by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, where they were being treated for their injuries.
