Kenneth Lane Vines

ORANGE BEACH – Kenneth Lane Vines, 60, affectionately known as “KV,” passed away Feb. 18, 2011 after sustaining a head injury due to a fall.
He was born in Pritchard, raised in Perdido and resided in Orange Beach for more than 30 years. The owner and operator of KV Yacht Brokerage he was a lively figure on the docks of local marinas, boat launches and waterways. He was a founding member of the Elberta Sausage Festival and the Orange Beach Seafood Festival. An avid sport fishing enthusiast, he was a member of the Mobile Big Game Fishing Club, Pensacola Big Game Fishing Club, The Billfish Foundation, Coastal Conservation Association and the Orange Beach Sport Fishing Club. His dedication to our coastal community and families that make Orange Beach a great place to live will be remembered and cherished forever.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Vines of Orange Beach; his daughter, Lane L. Vines and his son, Harrison W. Vines; his brothers, Erskine Vines Jr. of Perdido, Howell D. (Wayne) Vines of Stockton and his sister Charlotte Vines Krajniah of Onondaga, Mich.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon on Saturday, March 5 at St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church, located at 26547 Perdido Beach Blvd. in Orange Beach. A reception will follow in the church parish hall. The family would welcome photos to be placed in a scrapbook.
