ECHS Lady Blue Devils fall to Saraland 16-3

Escambia County’s Lady Blue Devils had an up-and-down week on the softball field picking up their first win, but also picking up their fourth loss.

The Lady Blue Devils (1-4, 1-1) earned their first area win on Monday destorying the B.C. Rain Lady Rams 19-2 and falling 16-3 to the Saraland Lady Spartans on Tuesday.

The Lady Blue Devils of Escambia County hung tough for the first two innings of their match up with the Saraland Lady Spartans, but mistakes hurt them late as they fell 16-3 in Atmore.

The Lady Blue Devils (1-4, 1-1) fell behind early as the Lady Spartans scored five runs in the top of the first inning.

ECHS followed up with three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning as Cha’Nae Lyles (1-for-2), Tristen Boothe (1-for-3) and Jami Andrews (1-for-2) all crossed the plate to pull ECHS within two.

After a scoreless second inning, the Lady Spartans took over as they scored four runs in the top of the third and seven in the top of the fifth to come away with the 16-3 win.

B.C. Rain 2

Escambia County High School picked up their first win of the season as the Lady Blue Devils dominated the B.C. Rain Lady Rams 19-2 in Atmore on Monday.

The Lady Blue Devils (1-3, 1-0) dominated for three innings as they scored 15 runs in the first and four runs in the s econd to mercy rule the Lady Rams in the third inning.

Cha’Nae Lyles, Jasmine Ireland and Kaylee Cox led ECHS with three runs each.
