ATMORE – Mrs. Evelyn S. Wiley, 80, of Atmore, transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at a Mobile Hospital.

She was a native of Atmore and a member of the Senior Choir and the Trustee Board. Mrs. Wiley was a retired school teacher with 35 years of service. She taught in Greenwood, Miss. and at Rachel Patterson Elementary until she retired.

She was a member of the Alabama Retired Teachers Association. She was a graduate of the Escambia County Training School and of Alabama State University (College).

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Dock Wiley Jr. of Atmore; three sons, Duane P. Wiley and Randall A. Wiley, both of Atmore and Tony L. Wiley of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, William h. Steele of Atmore; nine grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Gaines Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Joseph Williams, pastor officiating. Retirement of her remains will be in Stallworth Cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and her body will lie instate at the Church one hour prior to the funeral service.
