Dear Editor,

The Atmore Area National Day of Prayer Committee would like to thank everyone for their support and participation in National Day of Prayer on May 5.

After the Prayer Service the entire Bible was read in 30 minutes. We had well over 200 people involved in the Bible Reading Program. The book of Psalms was read twice along with several other passages.

The theme verse for 2011 is Psalms 91:2, I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. There are seven areas of power and influence that The National Day of Prayer Task Force focuses on all year for prayer; they are government, military, media, business, education, church and family.

This is titled the 7?7 Campaign and it was created to help encourage individuals and groups to pray for these seven centers of power, seven days a week. You may want to designate a day of the week for each topic to pray over. Are you able to set aside time in your car, during your coffee break, or before bedtime?

There is one official National Day of Prayer each year the first Thursday in May and we come together to humble ourselves and thank God for his blessings and ask Him continue to guide and direct our great nation. Every day can and should be a day we remember to pray for our nation and community.

Prayerfully yours,

Sharon Keesler
