For the 32nd year the Atmore Rotary Club will present the South Alabama Annual Old Time Fiddler’s Convention — and 2011’s event promises to carry on the tradition in style.

Fiddler’s, as well as other musicians, will take to the state at ECHS auditorium Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. for the annual fundraising event that offers plenty of prize opportunities for competitors.

Registration will be from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. with as nearly $2,000 in cash prizes to be awarded. The fiddler will receive a $1,000 prize. Other musicians will compete for more than $200 in prizes with bands having a chance at more than $300 in prizes.

In addition to the entertainment provided by competitors, the audience will have an opportunity to purchase great barbecue with Butt Burners on hand to cook for the event.

Tickets are $9 per person either in advance or at the door with children 12 and under admitted free.
