Following an impressive senior season former Escambia County High School quarterback Rico Stallworth was on top of the world.
That changed just before Christmas last winter when Stallworth and three others were arrested for firing a BB gun in a neighborhood.
Since then Stallworth has been through some ups and downs, but is receiving an opportunity to turn his life around and move down a good path.
Stallworth recently passed the final portion of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam and will report to Coffeyville Community College on Monday where he will play football for the Red Ravens.
With his departure coming, Stallworth is admitting his mistakes and ready to put the past behind him.
“God makes a second chance for everybody,” he said. “You have to take that chance in stride, and for me, what happened in the past is something I try not to think about. When i arrive in Kansas, I’m going to put all of that trouble behind me because it’s time to stay positive. I’m not looking for any of that stuff anymore.”
