EA drops doubleheader against Jay Lady Royals

The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars fell in two matches against the Jay Lady Royals on Monday in Jay, Fla.

The Lady Cougars lost the first match in two straight games falling 20-25 in game one and 18-25 in the second game.

In the second match, the Lady Royals defeated the Lady Cougars 18-25 in the first game and 25-27 in the second game.

The Lady Cougars were led by Lacie Flowers and Raven Weaver. Flowers had seven aces and four kills, while Weaver posted five kills and four digs.

Tori Searcy had two digs and two aces for the Lady Cougars, while Meagan Duncan had one dig, one assist, one block, one ace and one kill.

Meagan Fournier had one dig and one ace; Grayson Emmons recorded four digs and one ace; Bre Rolin had three digs and Saige Garret had one dig.

The Lady Cougars junior varsity lost two-of-three games against the Lady Royals winning the first game 25-22 and then dropping the final two games 15-25 and 11-15.

The Lady Cougars JV was ld by Saige Garret who recorded four aces and three kills.

Lady Cougar Bailey Godwin recorded two aces, while Fallon Chastang had one assist and Meagan Fournier had one kill.

The Lady Cougars next match is Thursday in a doubleheader against Lowndes Academy. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.
