Chiefs opener ruined 49-14

After opening the first three games of the season on the road, the Northview Chiefs finally hosted a home game with the Gulf Breeze Dolphins making the trip to Bratt, Fla.

The Chiefs (2-2, 0-0) home opener was soured with the Dolphins coming away with a 49-14 victory.

In the first quarter, the teams traded touchdowns as Gulf Breeze got on the board first, but the Chiefs bounced back with Montaio Mitchell scoring on a two-yard run.

The Dolphins pulled away in the second quarter as they put up 21 points to take a 28-7 lead into halftime.

Following the break, the Dolphins picked up where they left off and added another touchdown to go ahead 35-7.

The Chiefs responded later in the quarter as Mitchll scored his second touchdown of the game with the scor coming on a three-yard run.

Gulf Breeze put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter with two more touchdowns as they aired it out to score from 20 and eight yards to come away with a 49-14 win.

Next week, the Chiefs travel down the road to play their rivals the Jay Royals.

Kick off is at 7 p.m. next Friday night in Jay, Fla.
