“Taste of the South” organizer Sharon Smith, along with two vendors from this year’s event, met with Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce director Sheryl Vickery Thursday to make the food festival’s annual donation to the chamber.

“Taste of the South” as a whole donated $850 this year. Vendors United Bank and First National Bank and Trust also chimed in. United Bank donated $250 to the chamber while FNB and T added an additional donation of $200.

In total, ‘Taste’ and the two banks presented Atmore’s chamber with $1,300, a figure Smith said is about the average donation given by the festival each year.
