Northview picked up a big district win on Friday night as they went on the road and destroyed the Jay Royals 56-7 in Jay, Fla.
The Chiefs (3-2, 1-0) had a huge game from their offense and special teams with the offense scoring six touchdowns in the victory.
The win was important because it was the best game played by the Chiefs, Northview head coach Sid Wheatley said.
“We got off to a fast start in this game,” he said. “We played passionately for 48 minutes and got after it. It was good to get our first district game and play our most complete game of the season.”
Offensively, the Chiefs were led by quarterback Brandon Sheets who scored the first five touchdowns of the game. Sheets ran for four touchdowns and threw one to Austin Albritton.
Andrew Farrow also got in on the scoring for the Chiefs with a rushing touchdown and La’Mikal Kyles had an 8-yard kick off return for a touchdown.
The Chiefs have a bye week next week before playing Freeport at home on Oct. 21.
During their open week, the Chiefs will work on the basics, Wheatley said.
“First few days, we will be fundamental days,” he said. “They will be doing the same thing, so we need to be prepared.
