They learned quickly that teamwork makes things go smoother and helps to resolve problems faster on the low ropes challenges.
Many of them also challenged themselves to try the high ropes. Everyone came away from the retreat with new friendships.
The following members of the 2011-2012 YLA class represent Escambia Academy, Escambia County High School and Northview High School: Derrick Brown, Krista Choate, Haliey Clark, Domineque Hubert, Page
Lancaster, Scarlet Martin, Karissa Matthews, Jazmine McGinnis, Tiffany McReynolds, T.J. McReynolds, Shaniqua Rabb, Breann Rolin, Tyler Sanspree, Jordan Sasser, Julia Thorpe, Bria Willis, Sarah Wooten and Terilyn Wright.
This Youth Leadership Atmore class will now begin a series of interactive, hands-on activities which take place one weekday every month beginning in November through April.
Session topics include interviews, resumes and etiquette, law enforcement & justice, history, education, business/industry and government.
