Private First Class Keitra L. Crayton has successfully completed Advanced Individual Training in Fort Lee, Va. and is now MOS qualified as a Food Service Specialist (92 GOLF) in the U.S. Army National Guard.
She graduated Basic Combat Training on Aug. 5, 2011 in Fort Still, Okla. and then completed her Advanced Individual Training on Oct. 6, 2011. During the course of her training she accomplished many endeavors including qualifying with a M-4 series rifle, combat lifesaver course, reacting to biological chemicals (gas chamber), evaluating casualties, and more hands on experience of her job as well as a four day, three night stay in the field.
Ms. Crayton earned a 98.8 average and was number six in her class of 43 students.
PFC Crayton is a 2007 graduate of Escambia County High School. She has decided to continue the remainder of her junior and senior year at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville majoring in Secondary Education and English. She is accomplishing this goal while being contracted with the Army ROTC program.
Upon graduation, she will be commissioned as an officer.
She is the mother of 1 year- old Keilin Green and the sister of Private First Class MaRee Peavy of Fort Drum, N.Y. Parents of the graduate are Jennifer Peavy of Atmore, and Jimmie Crayton of Frisco City. Grandparents are Mary A. Peavy and the late Willie James Peavy of Atmore. Paternal grandparents are Mary A. Crayton and the late James Crayton of Frisco City.
