Road rage leads to shooting

An Atmore man is in jail in Pensacola after shooting a man on Century Boulevard.
Willie Floyd, 55, was taken into custody by the Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Department Tuesday after firing two shots at Deririck Medlock following a traffic dispute.
According to a Sheriff’s Department release Medlock was traveling on Century Boulevard when he was cut off by Floyd. Medlock then honked his horn at Floyd’s vehicle and pulled into a gas station. Floyd also stopped at the station and began to yell at Medlock. After Medlock ignored his yelling, Floyd returned to his vehicle, retrieved a shotgun and fired two shots at Medlock, striking him in the leg.
Medlock’s injuries are not life threatening and Floyd was booked into the Escambia County Jail in Pensacola. He faces charges of aggravated battery, discharging a firearm in public and criminal mischief. Floyd is currently being held under $13,000 bond.
