EA Cougars fall to Crenshaw 55-51

Jordan Sasser and the Escambia Academy Cougars fell to the Crenshaw Christian Cougars Monday.

Escambia Academy suffered a road loss on Monday falling 55-51 to the Crenshaw Christian Cougars in Crenshaw.
The EA Cougars held the lead early in the game, but were overtaken in the second half as Crenshaw made the most of the third and fourth quarters.

In the first period, Escambia Academy won the tight scoring battle with Crenshaw as they outscored the hosting Cougars 15-14.

The Cougars of Canoe held their lead to halftime as both teams scored 14 points to move into the break with EA ahead 29-28.

Following the half, Crenshaw began to take over the game and pull away for a slim victory.

Crenshaw took the lead in the third quarter as they held EA to 10 points and scored 14 of their own and grabbed the lead 42-39 moving into the final period.

In the fourth quarter, Escambia Academy fought to comeback, but were held off as Crenshaw outscored them 13-12 to come away with 55-51 win.

Darron McGhee led Escambia Academy in the loss with a double-double. McGhee posted 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Escambia Academy Cougars Jordan Sasser and Brandon Goddard also added double-digits in points with Sasser scoring 11 and Goddard adding in 10. Sasser also had a double-double with 10 rebounds. Goddard had four rebounds and one steal.

Bryant Lambert tossed in 10 points of his own in the loss and had four rebounds and two assists. Also scoring for the Cougars were Brett Helton (5 points) and Jaylen Henry (3 points).

The Cougars next game will be this weekend in a tournament at Fort Dale Academy in Greenville. Games begin on Friday.
