Lady Blue Devils crush B.C. Rain

After upsetting the UMS-Wright Lady Bulldogs last week, the No. 7 Escambia County Lady Blue Devils improved their area record to 2-0 with a win over the B.C. Rain Lady Red Raiders.
The Lady Blue Devils (14-, 2-0) dominated for four quarters to come away with an impressive 55-32 victory.
In the first quarter, the Lady Blue Devils punished B.C. Rain on the scoreboard outscoring them 15-4.
Escambia County continued to command the outcome of the game in the second quarter with 15 more points and held the Lady Red Raiders to five points to go into halftime leading 30-9.
Following halftime, it was more of the same as the Lady Blue Devils never allowed B.C. Rain to sneak back into the game.
In the third quarter, ECHS extended their lead by three points winning the period 8-5 to move into the final quarter leading 38-14.
With the lead well in hand, some younger Lady Blue Devils received the chance to play and held their own with the Lady Red Raiders winning the quarter 18-17, but the Lady Blue Devils taking the game 55-32.
Lady Blue Devil Diamond Williams led the way for Escambia County as she scored a team-high 17 points. Williams also had seven rebounds, seven assists and seven steals.
Jasmine Ireland added 15 points for ECHS in the win, while recording two steals and two rebounds.
Lady Blue Devil Brianna Martin finished the contest with seven points, while pulling down five rebounds and recording two steals.
The Lady Blue Devils next game will be Friday on the road at Saraland. Games begin at 4:30 p.m.
