Atmore Community Home Care LLC staff members commitment to excellence was reflected in the most recent Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Home Health Care Survey: 100 percent of patients surveyed rated the agency as a 10 on the 1-10 scale and 94 percent said they would recommend the agency.
ACH Administrator John Tucker said the staff not only provided stellar care but also did so during a time of great increase in patient numbers.
“The ACHC team achieved these patient satisfaction results while experiencing a 400 percent increase in their patient census in recent months,“ Tucker said. “Our home health team is a point of pride for ACH and Baptist Health Care.”
The Home Health Care CAHPS survey is designed to measure the experiences of people receiving home health care from Medicare-certified home health care agencies. ACHC provides care for homebound patients in four south Alabama counties. The program’s nursing and therapy services help patients remain in their homes independently while recovering from illness or injury.
ACHC services include:
· Skilled Nursing Care
· Home Health Aides
· Home Infusion Therapy
· Specialized Wound Care
· Nutritional Consultation
· Patient and Family Education
· Physical Therapy
· Occupational Therapy
· Speech Therapy
· Medical Equipment and Supplies
· Medical Social Services
According to Baptist Health Care officials the benefits of home health care are that it is less costly than a hospital stay, patients are able to maintain maximum independence and patients tend to heal more quickly because they are less stressed. Patients are referred by physicians and the ACHC team communicates with the physician on a regular basis keeping them informed of their patient’s progress.
