Early morning fire damages home

An early-morning fire heavily damaged portions of a home on Beck Street Monday.

An early-morning house fire on Beck Street kept firefighters with Atmore and Poarch busy Monday.

According to Atmore Fire Chief Gerry McGhee the blaze broke out around 2 a.m. in the garage area of the home.

McGhee said no one was injured in the fire, but said the state Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to determine the cause of incident.

“The fire marshal’s there right now and he’s still investigation,” McGhee said Monday afternoon.

The details of how the Monday morning fire began will be made available following the investigation’s conclusion.

 

No injuries resulted from Monday's blaze, but the fire heavily damaged the garage portion of the home.
