During a Monday meeting Flomaton’s Town Council elected to place embattled police chief Goeff McGraw on leave with pay indefinitely.
Although neither council members nor Flomaton Mayor Dewey Bondurant would comment on why McGraw has been placed on leave, interim police chief Daniel Thompson said Tuesday the council and mayor are aware of on going investigations by the Florida State
Attorney’s Office and the Department of Law Enforcement concerning an alleged improper arrest inside the state of Florida.
During Monday’s meeting two Century residents did take the floor in order to relay the events of the alleged incident.
Thompson said the investigation is not in the hands of Flomaton officials and cannot be commented on as of now.
“No one can comment as of right now,” he said. “But we are aware of the investigation.”
