Atmore Mayor Howard Shell and members of the Patel family cut the ribbon Saturday during an open house held to welcome Hampton Inn to the Rivercane.

City officials, community leaders and many others gathered Saturday morning at the new Hampton Inn location at Rivercane to officially welcome the new business to town with a ribbon cutting and open house ceremony.

Hampton Inn, which had been in operation for approximately a week prior to Saturday’s festivities, welcomed guests with  refreshments, tours of their facility and plenty of information on the hotel’s new services.

Atmore Mayor Howard Shell welcomed the new business Saturday and said the hotel will make a great addition to Rivercane, which is home to four other operations including a Hardee’s, a McDonalds, a Holiday Inn Express and a Waffle House scheduled to open later this year.
