Bentley to visit Atmore

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley will make an appearance in Atmore this month, headlining the GOP Spring Dinner Tuesday, May 9 at The Club on Alabama 21.

Bentley will be the featured speaker at the annual dinner held by the Escambia County Republican Executive Committee.

Jeff Peacock, chairman of the Escambia County Republican Party, expressed the Escambia GOP’s enthusiasm concerning Bentley’s upcoming visit.

“We are thrilled that Gov. Bentley will be visiting Escambia County,” Peacock said. “We are even more excited that our governor will be speaking at our spring dinner. The Escambia County GOP is truly fortunate to have the leader of our state taking such an active role in helping our local Republican candidates.

This event will set the tone for Escambia County Republican success in all 2012 races, ranging from the White House to the courthouse.”

This event is the second Escambia County GOP Spring Dinner. The first dinner was held in 2011 and featured U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the election of local Republican candidates. This year’s Escambia GOP slate includes Becki Breckenridge, who is running for circuit clerk; Judge Emilie Mims, who is the incumbent probate judge; Dr. Coleman Wallace, who is running for Escambia County Board of Education, District 7; Commissioner Brandon Smith, who is running for reelection to the Escambia County Commission, District 4.
