Atmore’s City Hall is in need of some routine repairs to the building’s and roof and Mayor Howard Shell announced at Monday’s city council meeting that the city is now taking bids in order to find a company to perform the work.
City building inspector Greg Vaughn outlined the process companies should go through in order to submit a bid for the project. The council decided the recent covenants may be too restrictive to the Rivercane site stating the since the property will be “primarily, if not exclusively, industrial in nature, the covenants and restrictions currently applicable to the Atmore Industrial Park should apply to this property as well” and that Resolution 2012-08 should be rescinded.
“Bid packages may be picked up between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at City Hall and by contacting me,” Vaughn said. “Bid proposals are due in writing no later then Thursday, June 7, 2012, at 1 p.m.”
In other business the city council:
• Approved a resolution rescinding aspects of amendment 2012-08 involving covenants at the Rivercane development property.
