A’s tie with NWE

The First National Bank & Trust Athletics and NWE White battled to a tie in their Cal Ripken Baseball match up Thursday at Tom Byrne Park.

The A’s scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to force the 8-8 stalemate with Jace, Kendrick, Sam and Bryant crossing the plate.

In the top of the fifth, NWE had taken an 8-4 lead with T. Peebles and C. Nordman making it around the basepath.

The two teams battled early in the game with the A’s taking a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first with Jacoby, Bryant, Jacob and Kyle all scoring runs, but NWE had tied taken the lead in the top of the second with J. Gibson, W. Windham, J. Windham, Peebles and Nordman putting runs on the board.

Gibson scored his second run in the top of the third to help his team take a 6-4 lead forcing that turned into 8-4 in the top of the fifth. The A’s put together their rally in the bottom of the final inning to force the tie.

PCI Blue 9, Rangers 5
PCI Blue came away with a victory in Cal Ripken Minor League action Thursday night dominating the Atmore VFW Rangers 9-5 at Tom Byrne Park.

The Rangers held an early 5-2 lead with runs from Josh, Caden, Chris, Tyderyn and Brody scoring in the first and second innings.

PCI took control in the bottom of the third to get the win thanks to runs from Daughtry, Jacob, Sheldon, Aron, Talan and Mateo.
