Babe Ruth action continues in Atmore, Poarch, Walnut Hill

Local Babe Ruth teams were back in action this week as Poarch Creek Indians knocked off Northwest Escambia 11-8 and Jerry’s Alignment Center notched an 11-5 win over Atmore Utilities Board Monday night.

In the early game PCI jumped out to an early lead with three runs of scores from Nathan Williams, Nick Shivers and Drak Hanitonz. NWE responded with two runs from Ryder Gifford and Tristan Brown. In the second inning, PCI saw their lead grow with runs from Williams, Shivers, Hanitonz and Chris Faye. NWE notched one run from Jacob Dunsford to leave things at 7-3. with PCI ahead heading into the third.

For PCI a third score from Williams and Hanitonz, along with runs from Corey Bailey and Doug Sherrill would add their lead to 11. NWE found home plate with Gifford, Dunsford and Ben Stotter, but would not be able to catch PCI.

Jerry’s Alignment 11, Atmore Utilities Board 5

Jerry’s Alignment picked up a win in the late game Monday, knocking of Atmore Utilities Board.

Jerry’s struck first with a first inning score from Chasen Freeman. Jerry’s followed with a big second inning, with scores from Anddrew Edwards, Freeman, Tanner Smith, Justin Walden, C.J. Casey and Ben Hubert.

The utilities board finally found some success in the second with runs from Thames, Williams and Cummings and a third inning scores from both L. Johnson and Randy Johnson.

Jerry’s, however, would have a bit more success with a third inning score from Tritan Agerton and a fourth inning runs from Edwards, Freeman and Orenthal McGhee.
