Charles Edward Fisher

FREEMANVILLE – Charles Edward Fisher was born on September 12, 1927, to the union of Fred and Mamie Davenport Fisher.
He married Rosa Thomas Fisher at the age of 19. They shared sixty-two years of marriage until she preceded him in death May 8, 2009.
Charles retired from Monsanto/Solutia after 29 years of devoted service. He loved life, fishing, joking and family. He was a member of Mount Gillead Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories, five children, the Reverend Andrew (Juanita) Thomas of Lexington, Ky., Dr. Sarah (Joe) Giles of Detroit, Charles (Shelia) Fisher of Freemanville, Cynthia Frazier and Eleanor Fisher, both of Birmingham; grandchildren, Marlon Fisher, Kareka Fisher, Fredrick Giles, Alycia Giles, Jolanda Giles, Devon (Ronnie) Holston, Dana Frazier, Garry Cauthen, Andrea Thomas and Dr. Antionette (Thomas) Cibull; great grandchildren, Somer and Zack Giles, Michael Giles Logan, Kherington Holston, Tyler Boyd, Tatum Boyd and Hayley Cibull; one sister, Bernice Salter of Freemanville; one brother, James Hall of North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Jessie Fisher of Atmore, Nellie Walker of Birmingham and Annie Watson of Detroit; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. from Mount Gillead Baptist Church in the Freemanville Community on Thursday, July 11, 2013. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, July 10, 2013 at Christian Memorial Funeral Home.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
