James ‘J.B.’ Walker

Mr. James “J.B.” Walker, 96, of Oak Grove, Fla., passed away Nov. 11, 2013, in Pensacola, Fla.

He was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Oak Grove, Fla., to the late James Edward and Laura Jones Walker. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He retired from St. Regis Paper Company with more than 40 years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the deacons for many years. Mr. Walker enjoyed farming, watching his grandsons play baseball, and playing dominos with friends.

Those who preceded him in death include his parents; his wife of 50 years, Gladys Walker; brothers, Clarence (Louise) Walker and Cephas (Rosa) Walker; and a sister, Lucille (Thomas) McCall.

He is survived by his son, Sam (Vivian) Walker of Oak Grove, Fla., and his grandsons, Scott Walker and Brandon Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, from the Johnson-Quimby
