The Atmore Police Department is currently investigating a robbery that took place Saturday, Jan. 4, outside of Regions Bank on East Church Street.

According to the APD, officers were called to the scene at 9:35 p.m., where they met with three employees of the Dollar Tree store on Lindberg Avenue. The employees told the APD that while they were making the night deposit, a black man walked up behind one of the employees and grabbed the deposit. Reportedly, the man fled on foot, and one of the employees sustained minor injuries.

APD officers and members of the Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 tracking team searched the area for several hours, but were unable to locate the suspect.
