Downtown Atmore was still covered in snow and ice Wednesday morning, after the completion of a snowstorm that came through Escambia County on Tuesday evening. Most motorists heeded the warnings to stay off the roads and to stay indoors, keeping the snowfall mostly pristine and unblemished.
